I'm finishing my exams, and after the exam period finishes (48ish hours from now) I'll be going through and re-writing logic such as better config options.
The configuration options will allow servers as well as players to add their own hooks without the need for me to add them in manually.
So I think that will eliminate the chance of me being buyest, I'll be effectively implementing the same concept as browser adblockers (pattern matching and end-user config).
As to your second question; As mentioned pattern matching I think will play a key role in this, but the end of the day will just count on the community to report hooks as well as any ads I encounter.
For example; If someone WANTS an advert to appear I can also add a whitelist option.
