Compatible with Stellaris V4





This addon reverts space battles back to be very short, like in vanilla.

Personally I dont recommend this addon but this is especially intended for the people who dont like the longer battles part of ASB.


Compatibility.
  • Compatible with mods adding custom ships.
  • Compatible with mods adding custom weapons and other items.

Place this mod below the main mod


Ps: If you already started a game with base ASB activated, then ships/stations that existed before you got this mod still have the main asb modifiers (those that lengthen battle times). Only new ships/stations wont get them.

Could you make this addon also revert your "regen" changes. ASB makes several changes to admiral traits, regen components, etc that affect balance. The shorter battles addon sadly does not revert it

Does it mean mod has 100% vanilla behavior, it's just updating visuals only? I would like to see more cool explosions and shots, but I want to stay in the classic game for balance reasons and be able to stay in line with regular non-mod players.

You said about battle length, what about ships behaviour from base mod?
-Improved Fighter behaviour and movement.
-Slower ship movement during battles.
-More intelligent ship spacing and behaviour during battles (no more face hugging fleets).
-Better ship targeting i.e no more entire fleets targeting one ship at a time.

Quick question, does the mod reduce lag AND do the modifiers from pre-existing ships get taken away after upgrading them/ changing their design?

@Chickenhunt oh it thought it also reverts the combat computer behavior to vanilla as well, i see. i can't let go of the cool effects of ASB but i also really need the vanilla combat computer behavior else ships designs that rely on keeping at range like whirlwind cruisers would get obliterated.

@Imuyaaa™ Asb changes how combat computers work back to the way it used to be before and improves on it.

The reason for this is that you get to see a realistic battle were it starts out at ranges you set, and if its a longer battle it enters a faze were ships begin closer quarter combat and broadsides.

is it me or the combat computers still gets messed up? i had destroyers with 4 missiles still charge to melee range even with artillery computer which is really fatal for kiting builds. Though with the ironman version of ASB they work properly.

Updated to 3.14 - Fixed some issues:

-This mod now also removes the slower ship speed in battles
-This mod now also reverts strike craft animations to vanilla speeds (faster)

I second this, this causes AIs to evac before a single shot is fired, every single time
