[Entry to the KSH Station Contest]

A failure, that's the short story.

The longer story: This station was the result of several mishaps, hence it's somewhat... interesting name.
First off, there might have been an issue with a food shipment, letting some near impossible to purge space mold get into the air filters. And the lungs of anyone foolish enough spend much time with their helmets off.

This created a rather nasty situation in the latrine, when one crew member explosively expelled 4 months of "organic matter" in a matter of mere seconds.
Needless to say, the person in question is no longer in any kind of active duty.

Next off, a solar flare managed to overload the surge protection system, and the internals have never been the same afterwards.

A repair crew was requested, but the request might have gotten lost in the space mail.

So, after much deliberation, the station was downgraded from "functional" to "in dire need of help" and soon after all the way to "last resort emergency shelter.

During it's entire life span, from building to being abandoned, it has been in the hands of underpaid and less than well motivated men (hence the somewhat drab colour palette.
