FOV stands for Field of View. In the case of Left 4 Dead, FOV only controls how far your gun is 'pushed' away from your screen. Setting it higher or lower won't extend or limit your overall view, but will allow you to see more of your weapon, and make it feel less like you're pressing the weapon up to your face.

Enable the developer console (you can find videos on youtube to do this) and after you have enabled it, hit the ` key, to the left of the 1 key and below the esc key. once the console is open type in cl_viewmodelsurvivor and then any number between 65 and 90. You can crank it higher than 90 but anything past that looks dumb. Most play on 80.

If you're asking for the animations i used in this photo, i'm telling you that I used the default animations, but I used a higher FOV setting, using the code cl_viewmodelsurvivor 90, but the default setting is cl_viewmodelsurvivor 60.

Whoa man, you don't have to scream. In this picture, the default animations are used, i just have my fov cranked higher. cl_viewmodelsurvivor in the console if i remember correctly. I have mine set to 90 so the code would be cl_viewmodelsurvivor 90. Default i believe is 65.
