RACE FOR THE FALKLANDS 2022


Following the further escalation of conflict in South America, the US called upon its trusted allies to help deal with the Brazilian threat, further bringing the balance of power to the BLUEFOR's side. After a successful American propaganda campaign, it was revealed to the world that Brazil was committing terrible atrocities in Colombia and Ecuador, therefore securing the need for war in the eyes of the international community.
Brazil was quickly running out of time, and the opportunity for de-escalation was closing fast. Brazilian military planners decided that too much was at stake and a surrender now would leave their country in a much worse place than they were before and have therefore decided to double down. In Venezuela and Ecuador, the pace of land attack was increased tremendously, to shut down the two countries before NATO reinforcements could arrive, therefore achieving a superior political position in the coming peace talks. A second objective was a thorn on the side of Brazil; the British-held Falkland Islands.
Brazil had been planning and stocking forces for the eventual recapture of the islands for decades and has set sail with a large fleet to surround and blockade the island from foreign reinforcements while a landing force moves in to take the islands with boots on the ground. Having the geographical edge, the Brazilians are nearing completion of their first objective in retaking the islands, but now a large British task force, including one of Britain's brand-new Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers, is within striking distance...

- The original Falklands War never happened in the 2022 timeline, therefore the Brazilian-controlled Argentinian fleet is largely intact.
- This scenario will have you facing the Argentinian and Chilean fleets, while playing as the British with a limited amount of help from US forces.

Great alternative history scenario, I was caught out a few times by unexpected SSKs. would have been even better just being a British task force, and if it involved landing troops/marines on the island as part of land battles

Yes, a major theme that'll come up is that the Brazilians don't really have the hardware to face fifth-generation stealth fighters directly, so they'll take a lot of losses attempting to dogfight in the beginning. Tactics will change soon enough.

I will definitely look into the MMT's and carrier group issues. Thanks again for playing and letting me know what you think!

Managed a triumph with 14 hours to go. Realistically the F -35 do all the work both with the air to air and anti shipping. There isn't a lot of opposition that stands up to those to be fair.
A couple of things I spotted. The CV group for my play through didn't move at all. The Trafalgar class submarine is fitted with the MMT Tomohawk but it can't fire those I reckon so they stay in the magazines.
