-Emperor Augustus after he heard of the defeat in the Teutoburg Forest

The battle of the Teutoburg Forest (9AD) is known as one of the biggest ambush battles and one of the biggest defeats of the Roman Empire. The battle lasted about 3 days and the Romans lost 3 legions (1/8 of Rome's whole army) against the Germanic forces.



Hello guys, this is my first map for Shogun 2 which I created with the TEd (Total War battle map editor). Maybe you subscribed to my early access version of this map. I am not sure what went wrong but Steam does not let me update it anymore so I uploaded this map here again. Additionally I am happy to tell you that this version now contains working walls for the defenders' fort, some key buildings were changed and several minor bugs I noticed while testing were fixed.



The battle:

The attackers:
The attackers try to capture the fort within a time limit of 20 minutes or destroy all enemy forces. They start in a fort in the corner of the map and try to capture a fort in the opposite corner. The way to the enemy's fort is very far and there is only a small path through the forest to get there. It is not recommended to leave the path because stamina is a big point in that battle (exhausted troops fight worse and have less morale) and soldiers exhaust faster when they go through the forest. The attackers don't have much time to reach the fort and the forest slows them down. In the middle of the map the attackers face a big mountain where they can decide to: 1. go around the mountain on the path which costs more time but is safer or 2. go straight and risk a time consuming battle on the hill (troops fight worse if they got attacked by troops on a hill).
Bonusses: Bow Dojo (+20reload speed, refills ammo when having unit on the capture point), Workshop (+2armour +3melee defense), Farm(more speed and better stamina)

The defenders:
The defenders try to ambush the attackers with the help of the terrain and the forest. They need to hold the fort for 20 minutes or beat all the attackers. They have control over nearly the entire map and the most possibilities. They need to hold a small fort in the corner of the map which is hard to defend so their best way to beat the attackers is to ambush them. Even if they will fail maybe they could stop the enemies long enough to hold the fort for 20 minutes. The defenders should use the hill in the middle of the map as it gives huge advantages in combat.
Bonusses: Sword Dojo (+2melee attack +5charge bonus), Bow Dojo (+20reload speed, refills ammo when having unit on the capture point), Shrine (+3morale), Farm (more speed and better stamina)


Advise:

1.On this map you can play in every constellation from 1v1 to 3v3 (so if any side has 4 players like 4v1 your game will crash in the loading screen.)

2.It doesn't seem to be possible to set up a gold loss for the defenders. My intention would be a gold loss of 40% like in other normal sieges. Of course you can think about another amount of gold loss. Another good option is to play with 3 (2v1) or 5 (3v2) players without any gold loss. As I am not sure how balanced the map is you should use an individual gold loss.

3.I recommend to activate night for the battle. The spotting distance will be reduced, but it makes the ambush more realistic in my opinion, because the attackers will have less time to prepare for the attack. Additionally, fire effects look way better then.

4.Playing against the AI would not be much fun. If the AI is attacking it lets the units walk and never reaches the defenders fort in time. If the AI is defending it will only defend the small fort and does not set up an ambush. Maybe I will create an AI version of this map in the future.
5.You should set the rule that sending out cavalry in the forest to spot the ambush forces is not allowed. I guess it will highly reduce the fun of the match if people would do that.

Please help me to improve the map by reporting any bugs to me if you notice them. Also tell me if you think that any side is too op or if there's something I should change. By the way, there is a small easter egg on the map. I know it's not the time of Shogun but when I saw it's possible to do that with the TEd I was surprised and wanted to add it.
