Eastern Kentucky Subdivision. Set during the Transition Era of the mid 50's when F7's started to replace the old K4's and other steam locomotives running for the Louisville and Nashville RR and the Chesapeake and Ohio RR. running the route at the time. Even though this is set in the 50's this layout can also serve as a CSX coal route as CSX used the same line of track as the L&N largely until the Coal market decline of the early 2010's. The Line runs from Winchester yard just Southeast of Lexington, Ky and heads Southeast towards the small town of Jackson, Ky. In between features the towns of Beattyville and Ravenna. Ravenna being a large stop for many trains heading back and forth on the line. There are three tunnels on this layout. One between Jackson Yard and the Jackson Coal Yard and 2 in between Jackson Coal Yard and Beattyville. The Kentucky River also runs along a long portion of the track near Beattyville and Ravenna. Heading Towards Ravenna State Highway 1571 runs along the tracks as the Trains head into Ravenna. Along the Layout you will see beautiful mountain scenery highlighting the amazing colors of the Autumn Season. I hope you all enjoy the layout and have fun.
