Mr. T played a major role in the success of the first WrestleMania, tagging with Hulk Hogan against Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff in the main event. The actor had become a major star as part of The A-Team as well as playing the villain in Rocky III.

At WrestleMania 2, Mr. T defeated Roddy Piper in a boxing match by disqualification after Piper attacked the ref and bodyslammed Mr. T.

Mr. T was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.
