Ikeda Munitions 'Belladonna' Cruiser (9-Slot)

The 'Belladonna' is a combat cruiser manufactured by Ikeda Munitions' shipbuilding division. While Ikeda has kept this design to themselves, its approximate specifications are known from a compilation of long-range scans and Inner Rim Securities Pact (IRiSP) ship registrations. The 'Belladonna' mounts a large forward gun and numerous secondary weapons, both along its sides and central spine. It also appears to have four forward torpedo launchers. Ship registration data suggests that it likely has a modular, easily modified internal structure, consistent with industry standards. This, unfortunately, means that it is difficult to estimate combat parameters for the 'Belladonna,' though its known size and power signature indicate that it is fairly well-shielded.

Given Ikeda's reputation for reliability and firepower, it seems safe to conclude that the 'Belladonna' is a powerful vessel that should not be underestimated. Sixteen 'Belladonna' cruisers have been registered by Ikeda Munitions over the last twenty years, but how many of these ships they actually control remains unknown, as some of their operations are in territories outside of IRiSP jurisdiction.

A ship and collection for Ikeda Munitions was not particularly high on my priority list, but I was struck with a burst of inspiration this week and started working on the 'Belladonna'. I'm very happy with how it turned out, especially given that the block count stayed fairly low compared to MEC and Eskion ships of similar size. This design simply wouldn't have been possible without the twisted corner block, so I'd like to (one more time) thank the devs for that, it's awesome and it lets me do stuff like this.

The 'Belladonna' does not have hangars, but I am planning (and already have names for) an Ikeda carrier and station. Definitely expect more builds for the galaxy's favorite plant-machine-hybrid weapons manufacturer in the future.

This ship is named for an extremely poisonous plant, also known as "deadly nightshade." The real flower has five petals, but that shape is extraordinarily difficult to do in Avorion and so I simplified it down to four.
