Dire Straights VII

World War III has been raging for a month. Taiwan is a desolate island whos inhabitants have fled due to nuclear destruction. The Chinese coast has been ravaged and the PLAN and PLAAF are tattered. The Americans have taken heavy losses in the air but due to strong efforts at the beginning of the conflict they have maintained firm control of the air and sea.

Two weeks ago the fourth carrier strike group appeared off the coast of China. American air assets near 1000 aircraft off the coast of China and in airbases in the Pacific. The majority of NATO has declared war on China, with the notable exceptions of Turkey and France. Russia has declared neutrality but is closely monitoring the conflict.

It is obvious that a coalition armada is assembling for an invasion of China, but nobody knows when it will come. The Chinese nuclear threat is still very much a possibility, and the United States is looking to eliminate that potential.

This is the seventh mission in the "Dire Straights" Campaign.
