It's a bit complicated. And it depends, somewhat, on the type of battery.
Yes, as a general rule, batteries that are kept cool perform better than batteries that are warm or hot. But there can be a big difference between "cool" and "cold".
Most batteries work on an electrochemical process. But are these sci-fi batteries built on Mars electrochemical... or something else?
Anyway, the electrochemical reaction does slow down in colder weather, weakening your battery’s power. Freezing weather can actually drain an automobile's battery power by 30-60%.
