Another map for the builders!

This map I built around the idea of minimal asset usage in order to give freedom of choice what assets to use yourself.
Hence, only 2 items are required! Even better, only 240K trees used so it's a light map suitable for lower end systems as well.
Also this map was built with Mass Transit and Parklife dlc's in mind, this is a solid map if you want to play out those dlc's to their full extent.

Regarding Mass Transit, if you would like a Network Extensions 2 version of the map, eliminating the need for Mass Transit dlc, let me know in the comment section. If this map gets enough demand for it and overall interest, I'll probably upload another version of it with NExt2.

Considering playability, this map is a very easy-to-play map.
• Plenty of flat buildable areas (see the screenshots at the end for a heightmap).
• Rail connection reaching throughout the map.
• A couple solid main highways through the map. As usual in my maps, I tend to keep the networking light to give freedom to create your own networking.
• Extensive shipping routes running all along and inside the bay, allowing harbor placement anywhere you like.
• Air connections present too of course.

I built all but one intersection (agusingnavy's Moselle) from scratch, let me know what you think about them. Would greatly appreciate your feedback, as always. Should you want them as separate assets to be uploaded into the workshop, give me a holler.

81 tiles strongly recommended. Or at least 25 tiles. 90% of the build plain is within the 25 tile area, but I still do recommend using the 81 tile mod to access the edges too. And as always, when using 81 tiles I also recommend the clouds & fog toggler to disable edge fog.

Now, I do want to mention that these maps take a fairly long time to create (this one took maybe around 70+ hours).
Considering the amount of time I've put into this, it would be amazing if you were to spend a few seconds to leave a like :) (or a dislike if you just happen to dislike the map for any reason..)

Thanks for your kind words, happy to hear you're enjoying the map! Unfortunately no, at least in the foreseeable future. I've been extremely busy with other projects outside Cities altogether (and life in general) so I'm not working on any CS2 projects in any shape or form. Even if I did pick up CS2, I'd probably rather just work on new map ideas instead of revisiting old ones as I doubt it's as simple as just porting the files over to the newer game. Sorry to disappoint, but rather not give out any false promises :) Cheers!

Thanks for the awesome map! I really really love playing this map as I can go crazy with the public transport in it. Any chance it's going to be ported to Cities Skylines 2?

Do you mean all train traffic stops on the map once you connect any train assets to the railroad network? If that's the case, then it's a rather peculiar bug that I've not encountered before so right off the bat I don't have many suggestions for troubleshooting.

As I've not encountered a bug like this before, I'd start with the usual troubleshooting steps. First off I'd try to increase the budgets in the game and any other way you can think of which could sort of force more train traffic to occur. If any in-game "boosts" or tricks have no effect, then I'd try speedrunning a "dummy" game just to see if the issue is save-specific or if it occurs every time. If it is not game-specific, then I'd try running the map vanilla / with only the required assets or mods. If the issue is no longer present with "a clean" setup, then I'd start going through my usually active mods and narrowing down which mod is causing the issue.

I am experiencing major train-traffic issues. Once i link a station or train/cargo assets to the main railroad network all train traffic coming into the region locks up after some time playing. Happy to provide more info (might be user error). Otherwise, this map is fantastic, great job!

The shipping routes on the map have been playtested and are functional as they're supposed to be. Some reasons why you're having issues with getting ships to show up could be
1) some mod that affects the game AI in some way
2) some mod incompatibility (usually an AI related mod)
3) some weird quirk of the game itself.

You could try increasing your budget for ships to the maximum and try increasing either tourism (to get passenger ships) or the scale of your industrial areas / industries in general (to get cargo ships). I know at times getting ships, trains, or airplanes to appear can take a lot longer than expected as there are so many factors that come to play in it, as well as a degree on randomness. I hope this helps in some way at least!

I cannot seem to get ships to show up on the map. I have ran the game for a few hours and no ships.

Glad to hear you like the map! Also as the original design may not always be 100% what some are looking for, it's great to see people willing to make some editing to make the maps suit their own liking. Have fun building! :steamhappy:

Just started playing this map after spending a lot of time searching for one I was really into, love it! The intersections are beautiful and trees are all in the right places. Thanks! Being American I'll probably have to do some careful moveit and editing work to get the highways upgraded to 5 lanes each direction. :steamhappy:
