Merc-MX10 (SV Class 2, Unlock Level 15)

Built for Xcaliber's June challenge.

Primary roles: Fighter, Survival, Warp, Alpha 10, Shield, Drone Hatch

The Merc-MX10 is a agile survival fighter designed to work with current alpha 10 requirements. It features all SV survival comforts as well as decent amount of weapons. The hull is built with hardened steel and main purpose of this ship is to take on POI's and other threats.

Survival features

Inside it has 5K volume storage, 2.6K volume ammo storage, o2 and station, armor rack, 2 constructors, 2 fridges, WiFi, short range detector, warp drive, shield, drone hatch, 2 extra large cargo boxes, and interior cockpit access.

Offense and Defense

The ship comes with 4 gatling guns, 4 homing rocket launchers, and 4 rail guns. Hull material is hardened steel and also features a new alpha 10 shield.

Features Summary:

1. Player unlock level 15, size class 2
2. Hardened steel hull, 4 gatling guns, 4 homing rocket launchers, 4 rail guns
3. Warp drive, o2 + station, 5K volume storage, 2.6K volume ammo
4. 2 Constructors, 2 fridges, armor locker, WiFI, short range detector, shield
5. Internal cockpit access, drone hatch
6. Good speed speed and maneuverability.
7. Sensor based lights, door, and ramp
8. Exterior spot lights + interior control switch

Note: This ship does not follow 7500 CPU as I wanted increased storage. It can follow it however some storage or RCS or both would need to be removed.

CORE Thrusters - make it good to go until, well forever!!!

But the new stuff for 1.9.14 may let this beauty play on with very little updating or change in appearance.

I am saying that I just had one of these in game, like 1.7. I do not remember it being a big issue to get it working. Before it got popped that is - do to my hubris - the poor thing.

Better do it again in creative before I insist on it though, could be in error.

I play in the Unknown Skies with Chilimeat.

Thanks EthylAcetate! I think this was one of the last SV's I made before weights and volumes. It is really lacking the lift thrust needed after that was added to the game. I am not sure if it is fixable do to the design and interior. I would have to look at it. Thanks again!

Looks like it's too heavy to fly in the new update.

It's such a shame that so many of your beautiful creations don't work anymore because of all the restrictions they've implemented for vehicles. It's a pain to find something that works and is well made now.

Thanks krosbonez! On your question, I wish you could exit out the rear of the cockpit, but it always puts you out the front of it, so you do have to go around. :( And thank you again!

Great work. I love all of these ships. How do you access the rear area from the cockpit? Do you just jump out and go around?

Thank you Hogweed Blitz, Di0t0ir,Feel My Burn, and Tat2dSoldier32! @Feel My Burn, I guess the MX10 was made to be a fighter more than anything else. So it uses more thrust and therefore more fuel. The closest ship I have to this that is better on fuel would be the Merc-AME and possibly the Merc-MX3 (new version). However both ships do not have a shield. I believe one could be installed int he AME as it has enough interior room thou. It would most likely need an additional generator for the shield as well. The MX10 however is built of hardened steel and the others are just regular steel. Someday I will look into building something like you are seeking. Thanks again all!
