Increasing tensions in the Mediterranean and Middle East have finally sparked an armed conflict between NATO and the USSR. A massive engagement between these two forces ended several hours ago, and many ships and aircraft on both sides were lost, with NATO coming out slightly ahead in terms of kills and losses. A small group of Soviet ships managed to push through the Suez Canal with the help of Egyptian forces, including Leningrad, a Moskva-class helicopter carrier, and Novorossiysk, a Kiev- class aircraft carrier. Along with a few escorts and a handful of remaining aircraft, this surface group is currently limping down the Red Sea to escape into the Indian Ocean.
With NATO forces bottled up at the Suez Canal, it is up to a small group of aircraft currently in Yemen overlooking the Bab-el-Mandeb to catch and sink the remaining Soviet ships before they make it to open seas...

Scenario Notes:
- This is the first of a new series of scenarios that I'll be working on every now and again, titled "Firefight".
- The concept for the series is single, short, action-packed scenarios meant to be completely independent of each other.
- My goal with this scenario is, as always, to have fun!
