Karlskrona

This is technically my first uploaded map asset even though I've played the game since launch.

The map is of the real life naval town of Karlskrona situated in the Blekinge Archipelago on the southeast-most corner of Sweden. The coastline and the islands are tediously hand crafted with overlays and the map comprises most real life main roads. I even recreated some of the UNESCO world heritage fortifications using the vanilla map editor tools. The whole setting is ideally suited for creating a 81 tile idyllic coastal region. The popular Aussie youtuber Flabaliki has based his series "Skärgård" on a modified version of this map.

As a long term project I'm using this map in recreating Karlskrona as accurately as the game and my abilities allow me to. Pictures from this project can be found in the linked Simtrpopolis city journal[community.simtropolis.com].

This map requires the MASS TRANSIT DLC. I have now also made a NO DLC VERSION of this map.


User yangzilata has made a remake of this map with higher capacity networks.
