Description:

Mining barges are a common sight in asteroid fields, splitting apart rocks and storing ores for later refinement into resources. They have been adapted for other uses such as hauling freight, salvaging scrap metals and some have even been converted for military use as light carriers.

Turret Placement (September, 2025)

Due to a bug with Middle Block Snapping on sloped surfaces like Edge and Turret Edge Base blocks, specific Grid Spacing values are required on Local Snapping depending on the size of the hardpoint you are trying to mount certain size turrets to. Here is a table with the values I have used:

I've decided to take the hangar and assembly out of this design as stats were suffering too much. Thrust, Brake Thrust, Cargo Hold, Power Generation and Shield have all been increased significantly and the ship costs ~30% less credits as those assembly blocks cost a fortune.

If you really like fighters, I still have a number of other designs in the mid-game range that have hangar bays and are more suited to that play style.
