General

Personally, I don’t like how the Vanilla Hero Classes are handled. Reapers are nothing but one gigantic cheese fest, Skirmishers aren’t worth using over vanilla heroes, and the only relevant abilities in a Templar skill tree are reaper and bladestorm.
This mod aims to change that. Below are listed changes the mod brings with its installation for each hero.

  • All heroes now get an utility slot with plated armor like everyone else
    Reapers
  • No Longer has a 1-tile detection radius
  • Instead uses the standard detection radius reduced by 30%
  • Now starts with Silent Killer at Squaddie rank
  • Vektor rifle damage scaling increased from 3-4/4-5/5-6 to 3-4/4-6/6-7
  • Vektor rifle range bonuses scaling reworked:
  • The range changed to -10 at 1 tile, 0 at 7 tiles, and +15 at 15 tiles and beyond
  • Claymore base damage reduced to 4 from 5, and base Shred reduced from 2 to 1.
  • Shrapnel divided into two seperate abilities, as seen below
  • Concealment loss percentages reduced from 50% capping at 80 to 25% capping at 50%

    Has a completely new Random Perk Deck Consisting of:
  • Executioner
  • Deadeye
  • Low Profile – Half cover counts as full cover
  • Preservation – gain 15 defence for 2 turns when revealed
  • Depth Perception – You have +5 aim against targets at lower elevation, and their dodge is reduced by 25%
  • Scout – Gain 1 Battle Scanner.
    The rest of ability changes are visible in a revamped skill tree below.

    Remote Start - Still has double damage, but no longer doubles the radius for the explosive.
    Distraction - now also gives a 20% detection range reduction that lust for 4 turns.

    Claymore Tier 2- Gives Claymore +2 damage and +1 Shred.
    Tracking - Allows Reaper to Spot targets regardless of the Line of Sight. Replaces Target definition.
    Lieutenant
    Needle
    Sting
    Captain
    Claymore Tier 3 - Gives Claymore +2 damage, +1 Radius and +1 Shred.
    Squadsight
    Soul Harvest
    Major
    Homing Mine
    Banish
    Colonel
    Highlands
    Annihilate

    Skirmishers
  • Improved bullpup damage scaling from 3-4/5-6/6-7 to 3-5/5-7/7-9
  • Parkour now reduces the cooldown of grapple by 1 instead of having a 5% Chance for a bonus action

    Has a completely new Random Perk Deck consisting of:
  • Executioner - Confers 10 aim and 10 critical chance against targets at half or less of their original hit points.
  • Return Fire
  • Damn Good Ground Gain +10 aim and +10 defence against targets with lower elevation.
  • Tactical Sense – Gain +3 defence per visible enemy, Capping at +15 defence.
  • Close and Personal - Gain +30 crit Chance against adjacent enemies, the bonus decreases by 5% per tile
  • Moving Target – Gain 30 defence and 50 dodge against reaction fire.
    The rest of ability changes are visible in a revamped skill tree below.

    Inspire Agility - grant 50 dodge to any visible ally. Has 1 charge, and every kill increases it by 1.
    Blood Thirst - Ripjack gains +7 crit chance for evy enemy you see, up to 70.
    Reflex - Now can trigger once per turn.

    Wrath
    Reckoning
    Lieutenant
    Zero in
    Fury - When wrath hits, gain a movement action.
    Captain
    Combat Presence
    Retribution
    Manual Override - Now reduces every cooldown by 2.
    Major
    Full Throttle - now lasts 3 turns,and stacks with itself.
    Whiplash - has a 5 turn cooldown instead of charges.
    Colonel
    Judgement
    Battlelord - Has a 5 turn cooldown instead of charges, and no longer ends the turn.

    Templars
  • Now has parry at squaddie
  • Now starts with 1 focus
  • Max base Focus increased to 3
  • Rend no longer gains damage from Focus
  • Rend no longer can stun or disorient
  • Increased the Gauntlet damage scaling from 4-5/5-6/7-8 to 4-5/6-7/8-9 to compensate
  • Templar no longer gains mobility from Focus
  • Increased base mobility by 2 to compensate
  • Rend now grants Focus on Hit, no longer requires a kill
  • Volt no longer has a target limit, and jumps to people in a small radius around the target
  • Volt damage changed from 2-5/3-6/5-8 to 3-4/5-6/7-8 (has 20% Chance of dealing 1 extra damage)
  • Volt deals additional 2/3/4 damage against psionic enemies instead of double damage.

    Has a completely new Random Perk Deck consisting of:
  • Lightning Hands
  • Magnum – Your pistol shots have +10 to hit and deal +1 damage
  • Clutch Shot – Once per mission, fire a pistol shot that cannot miss
  • Stilletto – Your pistol shots now pierce armor
  • Quickdraw
  • Faceoff

    The rest of ability changes are visible in a revamped skill tree below.

    Stun Strike - now has 80% chance to hit independent of focus level, and is guaranteed to disorient.

    Invert - is now a free action.

    Captain
    Amplify - now lasts for 4 hits regardless of focus.

    Void Conduit - Initial damage decreased to 1, but now always lasts for 3 ticks, and gains 1.5 health for each damage dealt.
    Colonel
    Ghost
    Ionic Storm

    Compatibility

    The mod overrides:
  • XComGameState_Effect_Amplify
  • X2Effect_PersistentVoidConduit
    And is pretty much incompatible with every other mod that changes the effects of hero classes that this mod changes. Stuff Like Remote start on purifiers should still be compatible.

    DO NOT INSTALL THIS MOD MID MISSION

    Installing this mod mid-campaign should work, provided that you retrain the classes with console commands.
    That said, Installing this on a new Campaign is recommended.

It's clearly a hate mod for the reaper
Shadow skill is lore accurate
-Extremely low detection radius

I'm experiencing the same issues as Mighty_Rathalos with the claymore. Tweaking the radius values in the ini's seem to do nothing. Very annoying.

nevermind... that didnt seem to do it. sometimes it happens that it only is a 2x2 radius when I explode it, sometimes it is the expected 3x3 from the preview...

well Im having the same problem as Flashstriker that my claymore rank 1 has a different size shown than it has for the explosion later on. what I found after digging through the files for grenades (as it should have the same radius as base frag grenades from what is shown) I updated
+HomingMineRadius=2.5f to +HomingMineRadius=3f
since your changes above dont show that you wanted to have a 2x2 radius instead of the 3x3 radius. now both shown radius in preview and acttual explosion match. hopefully it remains funtional after upgrades

would like to ask how come the bragadier rank shows up for the faction soldiers when this mod is enabled? somehow, the game treats the soldiers as not yet fully promoted even after reaching that overflow rank...

@Lobuno I already tried a new game + refreshing the skill tree through console commands. I didn't know how to check/change the load order cos I never had to until now. The order generally doesn't really do much in xcom 2 (not like in other games like skyrim) and it's by default not so easy to see (different to NMM) unless you look for it.

Uh, AML load order actually does not do anything, and its devs are hiding it by default and considering its removal. I'm not familiar with I'm the commander here, so I don't know what's the solution to the conflict, but that's definitely not it.

So you were already using AML but you couldn't check (or change) load order? I suggest you to quit modding.

The skill tree won't get fixed if it's already bad unless you start a new game or you respec your soldiers with console commands.
