MEC 'Mellifica' Freighter (Alternate Cargo) (5-Slot)

An alternate version of the Muthos Engineering Consortium's 'Mellifica' freighter.

While it shares many of the features of the original, a few things about this version are slightly different. The key differences are...

-Only 3 size 0.5 point defense hardpoints (instead of 4).
-Cargo bay is slightly shorter.
-Cargo bay is fully armored (the original was only partially).
-Slightly less maneuverable.
-A few additional frameworks.
-The MEC logo nameplate has been moved to the area between the size 1 turret mounts.

I was playing around with different designs for cargo crates and decided to try out a new style of cargo bay for this ship. Instead of updating the original, I thought I'd upload it as a separate entry. Lessons learned and parts developed in this process may be used in future MEC station builds, as well as a planned superfreighter.

The ship is named for the Mexican honey wasp, Brachygastra mellifica. In addition to being one of only a handful of wasp species that produces honey, these wasps are important natural pollinators of avocados.
