No Minimum City Tile Yield

In the default game, cities will give its tile additional yields such that it will have at least 2 Food and 1 Production, helpful for settling on Desert, but that means you lose value when settling on tiles with Food or Production. This mod ties the 2 Food and 1 Production to an invisible building each city will get for free when founded, and removes the minimum yield mechanic, giving you greater yields when settling on Grassland, Plains or Hills. Settling on Grassland now accelerates your early game population growth by a lot, so if you don't like that then this mod is not for you.

As demonstrated in the screenshots, where both cities were founded on plains and the single citizen working on the tile with Deer, the default game has a net yield of 2 Food (4 from Tiles, 2 Eaten) and 5 Production (3 from Palace, 2 from Tiles) while the modded game has a net yield of 3 Food (2 from Invisible Building, 3 from Tiles, 2 Eaten) and 6 Production (3 from Palace, 1 from Invisible Building, 2 from Tiles). In other words, the 'lost yields' of the Plains tile where the city was founded are now able to be used.

Does not require any DLC. Works with my other mods.

Actually it is still very beneficial to settle on hills in the unmodded game. Because it still gives +1 Production for free, which means a lot for early buildings, and +25% city defense bonus IIRC.

Glad to see people subscribing to Civ 5 mods in this day, long after 6 has been released. Maybe I'll release the mod which I've been sitting on for like 2 years...

Yes, Flood Plains are a feature like Forest and Jungle. I considered making it so Flood Plains will not be removed upon settling but in the end I did not.

Cool mod. I like how it gives more flexibility with city placement and makes settling on hills less of a best default choice.

I noticed that settling on flood plains seems to remove the food yield from the tile, so placing a city on flood plain gives less food than putting it on a grassland tile. I think this is because the game treats flood plains as a terrain feature and not as actual terrain, so flood plain is removed when a city is found. Not an actual bug, but something that the player might not realize at first.
