After reaching an orbit of about 200KM, the probe extended its orbit to the Mun. After a few days, mission control decided that wasn't going to work and put themselves back in a near 800 KM orbit with Kerbin, using that orbit to line up the orbit with Minmus. Eventually, the orbit was reached, leaving no liquid fuel left in the engines and 1330 Xeon Gas. This is where the X-1 will be resting until more there are more communications satellites in orbit of the Mun and Minmus.
