Hammer Editor Modifications for easier Mapping

The L4D2 Hammer editor is not as good as it could be. So here's a few edits to make it better.

Foreword.
The hammer editor has a few limitations as to what entities you can spawn and how they are spawned. editing the fgd files allows you to do more things.
So this guide lists a few useful things that make your mapping experience way easier.

I wrote all of this down in a discord server i'm in, but i figured putting it here would be more useful.

UPDATE 2022
Everything that once was here is now on a GitHub Repository for easier use for all of you.
You'll no longer need to manually create FGD files.
Just download and unpack the repo into your bin folder and install the hammer vpk.

This is not the right place to ask, but its not like anyone really cares.

The entire "copy items over" part happens if the weapon_spawn entities are in exactly the same spot, in relation to the info__landmark, and they must also be relatively close to the navmesh.

But I do not know why they would show up, but not be usable.
Only guess is that you somehow hot a nodraw brush, or an invisible brush that covers the items, preventing you from picking them up

Hi. I for a very long time looking for answer to my problem with Valve Hammer Editor (trigger_changelevel). Can ya help me? The problem is that when switching to a new map, all my equipment remains as phantom, that is, it is shown, but in fact it is not. How can I fix this?

I didn't update the repo in a while, cause I had nothing to change.
I don't have my fingers in l4d2 itself, so. I dunno.

Hammer++ is not even properly released for L4D2.
Plus, they got their own explanations of how their features work on their homepage.
