The French Falklands

It’s January 2020. After years of instability, Maduro begins to lose his grip on the Venezuelan Government. In a desperate attempt to regain his people’s trust, and reignite the nationalism that allowed him to survive, he decides to invade the two countries next to him: Guyana and Suriname. He chose these nations since they are easy to conquer in comparison to the other neighbours. After purchasing 16 Su-35Es, 100 R-77M and 50 ‘Kazoo’ Missiles, as well as 3 brand new 'Lada' class submarines from Russia, Maduro orders the invasion – which takes 2 weeks. Due to the influences of Russia and China, Venezuela gets away with these invasions. The now larger, more prosperous Venezuelan ‘Empire’ has, at least for now, restored its faith in their leader. With further success in mind, Maduro looks towards the next easy bit of territory – French Guyana. Taking over NATO/EU territory would be a big ideological win for Maduro. If he could conduct the operation rapidly, he could take over the territory and ‘dig in’ before the French Arrive. Learning from assymetric-warfare tactics, he orders three simultaneous car bombings on French Infantry Barracks and the Airport. The two barracks attacks were a moderate success, killing 240 soldiers, and greatly diminishing the French defence capability. In response, the French rapidly deploy a detachment of 6 Mirage Interceptors and 2 brand new 'nEUROn' Stealh UCAVs to the airport, along with a small force of AMX-30 IFVs. Maduro decides not to conduct any more carbombings due to the larger french pressence, instead deciding to posture his forces (including his fighters), in preparation for a French counterattack. However, he quickly learns that a large French Fleet is already underway. With little time to spare, and with momentum in mind, he decides to invade. The French, even though it’s the own territory, have ruled out nuclear threats – as Venezuela would be protect under the MAD umbrella of China and Russia. Their only option is to conventionally secure its territory from invasion – Charles de Gaulle is on the way. The United States and United Kingdom offered their support. Freance, however, have insisted that they deal with this themselves. With Newspapers around the world call it ‘The French Falklands’, lets hope the French are able to secure their territory.
This is a broad-discipline scenario spanning 2 days, playable from the French side.
