I added 2 gyros so it would stay put on my building frame when turned on.
Its easy for me to fly unlike others. Its very steady.
The camera is very accurate. I go right at the ore dead center every time.
This miner fits right on the back of the "Green Team Land Lord" you can subscribe to by adding some conveyers and a lock.

I'll agree banking in this thing when full is horrible especially at high speeds. a good suggestion is putting a waypoint a few meters away and 10 or so meters above your base connecter (depending on you base layout) and using the built in auto pilot to fly it back to that waypoint when full then manually docking it slowly
It can't. It doesn't have the thrust in any of its side thrusters to lift itself, in my experience. If it rolls at all, such as when position in a pit, or when banking in order to utilize the top large thrusters, it runs the risk of essentially turtling itself.
At the time the blueprint was made all ores had the same mass in the inventory so it didn’t matter if it was ice, iron, or gold. I haven’t played since may so I'm unaware if they did changes to the mass/weight of ores or ship parts since then to make this overweight enough not to fly, I suppose i should play again and update it accordingly.
As for the other statement I’m unsure why you would want to turn off the 2 large downwards thrusters and then lay it on its side? That would be like turning off the main rotor on a helicopter then trying and failing to make it lift off.
Honestly, the easiest way to test it is that if you turn off its large atmos thrusters (the top mounted down facing ones) and lay it on its side, it can't get back up again, and that's a shame, because it really does have a lot going for it (the camera positioning w/ spotlight and drills, ejectors, etc.)
But i have to say ... this thing is really nice. Works like a charm. Land on the surface, activate the drills and chill until you have enough or your weight reaches 600 tons.
With 600 tons you can barely handle it, but hey ... 600 tons! Ejector, Camera, remote control, batteries! This thing is a 9 out of 10 ;)
