Katana of the North

Due to the conflict easing between the ice giants and the people of Windhelm the king of the ice giants decided to send out a sign of peace. He sent to the town a large chunk of ice from his crown explaining that the ice would never melt.

The king of Windhelm accepted the offer and sent out one of his own a large supply of cattle for the giants to feast upon.The king of Windhelm ordered the ice be chipped down and created into a sword. The local blacksmith and a few artist began to chip away at the large chunk of ice.

After several years of backbreaking work they finally had the finished product a katana style sword. The blacksmith and the artist that worked on the sword had to retire as it was discovered while working with the ice that it had magical properties other than just staying frozen, it gave frostbite to those who touched it. It required them to work in shifts and take constant breaks to recover.

Once the sword was complete the hilt was wrapped in enchanted cloth that held back the frostbite effect, years of work, pain and blood went into the creation of this sword. A symbol of peace and power, this sword is soon going to be presented to the king to replace his own sword. This sword would be used by the king as a show of peace and respect to the ice giants to keep the much needed peace between the rival factions.

The sword was named "Sword of the North" by those who worked on it, it now rest in the Blacksmith Quarters of Windhelm waiting for the rest of the ceremony to be prepared so that they may present the sword to the King.

If this sword was stolen before the ceremony or destroyed the king would have nothing to show the frost giants and would be seen as a sign of disrespect that he discarded the ice giant king's ice crown chip...Who would want to do such a thing as steal such an important skyrim symbol.
