This guide is decent. The information on general progression progress is pretty spot on, and the descriptions of what you can do at each port is (mostly) spot on. Other parts of the guide are more dubious, new players shouldn't take this guide as gospel. For example Caduceus doesn't give great material rewards but there's really interesting lore on Parabola, the mirror-dream realm, there, especially for people familiar with Fallen London/Sunless Sea lore. Also now that you can keep increasing stats after level 20 min-maxing is way less necessary. Still not a bad idea to prioritize getting 2~3 stats up to 75 first though, since the equipment requirements can be pretty brutal.
Again, not a bad guide, you can use it as a reference, just don't take its advice too seriously and play how you like.
relays: ministry stamped permits (have at least 3)
albion: 200-500 sovs or HOURS x2 works if you don't have permits
eleutheria: 800 sov, gemstones + bombazine, munitions x3; savage secret or TEA x2
blue kingdom: permit + 500 sov, artefact, hours x2, SOULS x2
You'll get the chance to survive, if you pass a hard Hearts check. On success you'll lose some terror and gain 1 nightmare. You'll probably aslo get an option to trade -50 terror for 1 nightmare between 50 and 100 without any skill check. Nightmares will kill you when they reach 4, but taking a level or two is an option. You can use Magdalene's and Facets to remove them.
