Last Stand of European Democracy

The heir of an old mod I created and deleted a long time ago, "Fall of European democracies", now brought to 1.6.2 and the new focus trees.

What is it ?

An alternative history mod centered around gameplay and balance, but not lore. Fascist France, Spain and Italy ally together. The UK joins the Comintern. Democratic Germany desesperately fights a 2-front war along with the rest of the European nations until US reinforcements can arrive. Franco-Italian, British and American fleets battle for the control of the Atlantic and the vital supplies to European democracies.

By the way, the only thing that my mod changes is AI behaviour towards decisions and AI national focus historical path.

How to start a game ?

Start a game with "historical mode" ENABLED.
Make sure the German Reich loses the Civil war (it's the only game-breaking event that I couldn't stop from happening). It has lost every single civil war I have done in 1.6.2. If it wins it, restart a new game.

How to play a game/what happen exactly ?

It's a mod centered around balance, so players are expected to play in a certain way to not break the balance. Feel free to do it if you don't mind.

- France rushes "Woo Italy" and supports Nationalist Spain
- Soviet Union follows its normal historical path and declares war on the Baltic countries in 1939 (for some reason)
- Italy supports Nationalist Spain and waits for France to woo them
- Germany opposes Hitler and rushes Polish membership of the Central European Alliance
- The UK takes the Labour Union focuses and rushes the decisions that lead to Comintern UK
- USA waits for Japan to declare war on them before joining the CEA
- Japan purge the Kodoha faction, invades China, then invade the Philippines and the Dutch Indies in 1941

Why use this mod instead of the ingame alternative history tool ?

Because the tool kind of sucks, has bugs and isn't as thought-through as a handcrafted mod. A few examples:
- AI UK will take too much time to join the Comintern
- AI France is going to take forever to switch to fascist because it waits for Germany to pick certain focuses, leading it to join the Central European Alliance later on, never wooing Italy
- AI Germany isn't going to go through the Central European Alliance fast enough to create it before the war breaks out
- AI Romania will often invite Poland and Czechoslovakia, screwing over Germany
- Alternative history focuses assume all other countries remain on the historical path, for example Yugoslavia democratic path leads to join the Allies (ie UK faction) even if the UK is member of the Comintern, or getting closer to Democratic Germany will increase fascist support in your country
