Midland 483 Class / Fowler Class 2P locomotive pack, by killakanz
From Great Britain.
Midland 483 Class unlocks 1882 -- Class 2P in LMS and SDJR liveries unlocks 1928 -- BR version unlocks 1948

The Midland Railway 483 Class, designed by Samuel W. Johnson, was built for suburban passenger services. The design formed the basis for Henry Fowler's 2P Class for the London Midland and Scottish railway (LMS).
More than 300 of them were built and they spread across the British isles when they transferred to British Rail ownership, serving through to the end of Steam.

There are no surviving members of the class in preservation today, as all were scrapped.

@Sonio, Apparently Rev W. Awdry based Edward on a Furness Railway K2 Class (though I don't see the resemblance on the TV show model).
It's said though that Rev W. Awdry used an LMS 2P to depict Edward on his own model railway.
