Built in 2154, Little Nell was the UESN's M/AM Demonstrator for the SSWR-I-a Warp Reactor which was a less complicated reactor compared to the NX's Gravimetric Displacement Reactor, unfortunatly the SSWR series were more prone to containment failings than the NX engine.
The first Reactor was built in 2152 on Mars, one year after the launch of the NX-01. In 2153, Earth was attacked by the Xindi and the only ship that could retaliate was the UESPAS's Enterprise NX-01. Embarrassed, the UESN and the armed forces as a whole wanted faster and more advanced ships, That began a year after the attack (2154) with the Launch of Little Nell Which was fitted with the SSWR-I-a.
