B.A.S DRAGONFLY LIGHT FREIGHTER (MK.5-W) [Armed Version W/Turrets]

A Firefly / Serenity Inspired personal ship designed to meet the needs of an individual, without being "oversized".

A very long overdue upgrade to the Dragonfly, I have rebuilt the entire ship from the ground up - this is a totally new build and only shares visual similarities with the older models. The key improvement over the older models is the expanded hangar / cargo bay - this also now includes a "cargo tug" for loading and unloading. Another major development is the inclusion of two passenger shuttles docked to the ship's nacelles.

One of B.A.S's earlier lines of starships, the Dragonfly-Class 2-man transport has a proven service record as an incredibly versatile ship, adaptable to suit almost any pilot. Dragonflies are known to have been converted to serve a plethora of different roles in both military or civil settings. The MK.4 model (shown here) represents the latest breakthrough in the revisiting of the Dragonfly line, and brings what was an aged and tired vessel up to (semi)modern standards.

The MK.4-C moves away from the older ATLAS style FTL's, and opts for the larger KSH style jump setup - this allows the ship to make much longer range jumps without long and laborious process of having to physically key in the desired coordinates. While this jump system is less accurate (jumps often result in the ship being around 1000m away from the desired destination) it is far more economical, and makes use of much more conventional parts that can be found in the universe. As with the armed version, this ship has a total overhaul of its power plants and thrust systems allowing it to match speed with most larger bulk freighters. Please be aware that in it's default setup a Dragonfly is no racing ship, however its certainly not the slowest freighter available to date.
The "-C" Model of the Dragonfly features an extended bridge with a redesigned crew quarters, this allows for a slightly increased cargo capacity with the addition of 3x Small crates. The "-C" model also comes with a large upper room in place of the heavy cannon found on the "standard" model of Dragonfly, this room comes as default unfurnished and can be used for whatever purpose you see fit; convert it to a passenger room to make a bit of extra profit ferrying civilians around the galaxy, or use it as a briefing room to plot your next heist (B.A.S Does not condone crime)
The -C does retain the necessary conveying systems to allow pilots to fit their own turrets should they see fit, However as standard this model does not come equipped with any defencive weapons.

While you may expect freighter/transport ships to follow the common trend of having one large "store room" full of cargo crates, the Dragonfly class instead features a network of hidden, inter-connected small containers allowing for efficiency and security; should one large container be destroyed/hacked you risk loosing a LOT of cargo in one raid, the Dragonfly allows you to effectively "hide" more valuable cargo in harder to reach containers, away from prying eyes.
