Merc Missile Assault Vessel (SV Class 1, Unlock Level 12)

Primary roles: Specialized combat, Storage, Survival, Alpha 9

The Merc-MAV is designed to take out enemy defenses and breach hulls. It is loaded with two 6 packs of rocket launchers as well as 4 gattling guns. The hull is built with hardened steel and the front nose of the ship has extra layers of protection. It also comes equipped with most all SV survivial conforts but does not have warp drive. The ship is at 7500 CPU use and designed for alpha 9 current specs.

This blueprint may show in orange(?) unless "Block limit for certain devices." in the game difficulty settings is set to false due to the weapon loadout. If this becomes a problem in the future I will update the blueprint with a more standard weapon loadout which I do think would take away from the intent of this ship. The idea is to fill a role in a rock/paper/scissors of more specialized ships rather than one ship does it all. This ship has a great offense against slow moving or stationary targets but would be weak in air to air combat against agile SV's with a different loadout.

Survival features

Inside it has 4125 volume storage, 2500 volume ammo storage, o2 and station, armor rack, 2 constructors, 2 fridges, WiFi, short range detector, and interior cockpit access.

Offense and Defense

Designed to take out defenses and breach hulls by using 12 rocket launchers. It also has 4 gattling guns, and built of hardened steel. It is also semi quick and agile. The 2500 volume ammo can hold 2000 missiles and 4500 gattling guns rounds.

How would you go about swapping out the gattling guns for, say, plasmas? Even in creative mode I get the "exceeded block limit on group Light Weapons" error. Removed them in my actual save game and now can't put weapons back in those four slots.

This took me from "I can kill drones" to "I can clear out all of the Zirax bases on my starter planet" with minimal resources. Thanks for the leg up!

@thethirdmike I am with ya on this one. I/we have been using fairly exclusively...such a great ship. Like the Charon, we have been upgrading it through our playthroughs. We recently (finally) crossed over into Reforged Galaxy playthrough (jsut before 1.4 came out) and ...well we had to mothball it (not due to 1.4 though).

It is like I got hit with a stupid stick lol...can't get the balance of cpu versus weight versus etc. correctly to be as effective...versus the badass'ery of the enemies (said with love).

I'd love to see a RF version of this by a more competent person. As for us we are hooked on RG. we will probably do a few playthroughs and then go do Reforged Eden.

I'm a huge fan of this entire series but the Merc-MAV has been my favorite since the first time I flew it. I hope this can be updated for the current version of the game someday. I found myself longing for the MAV during my first playthrough with CPU and Volume limits turned on so I created the Merc-LAV off of this chassis so I could still have a great looking but affordable SV early in the game: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2300984091

Dude, this is still one of my favorite POI killer. Some servers block it but I just take a few of the offending items off. Jay, keep up the good work. Your the best designer. Don't listen to the trolls...

@Skullkrusher1990, I would guess you are looking at the stat screens seeing the old numbers on how pitch, yall, and roll were rated, don't actually test the item to see that those numbers have changed greatly with newer patches and then saying it is super slow. That is not the case. I may have to spend more time to take new stat screen shots to reflect the game changes done on how those stats read.
