I really wished this got updated... Man....
That said : You COULD do a full shipset realy, adding in Legion ships and Alliance ships as well, but no single "empire" in sunrider has enogh ships to be a standalone. Plus it would be upsetting that Ryuuvia would have Sunrider class ships as well (as they did in history.. those cruisers look like a very advanced version of the sunrider (maaaaybe in CR we get to know WHY as we actualy get to.... nope, not again, not saying ANYTHING MORE!(Oh and i lost my bet of Claude and Chigara building the Sunrider again... ah wel... Defiant it is then!)
what i had to do was change the ultility loadouts by removing the small and medium slots and replacing them with 6 Large and 2 auxillary slots on each section as for the weapons that was really easy i just copied and pasted the new gun codes to the right parts of the sunrider and now stellaris adds them in correctly.
so the issue is getting the model to show up in the ship designer otherwise it will be a black box again i have no idea if it will still be a black box when used in the galactic map
