CBT 2leg 'Mech Sheet and Builder (I took it-Terison)

描述

This is a heavily scripted character sheet/record sheet for managing a 2 legged Battlemech in Classic Battletech, and you can make builds with it using all the items I was able to put in.

It manages weight, cost in C-bills, and would have managed Battle Value if I could find two sources that agreed with each other. It also displays and lets you take into account the damage to all parts and front/back torso segments, heat, movement and the effect of movement on heat, armor weight by the 8's, and change your armor weight values. Poke around with it and you'll see that it has all the features minus weapons, which was what I was going to try to figure out if I wanted to add to the sheet or have as their own tokens.

I have to upload this just so you can take it. I encourage you to take this, take the code, take the models, take the everything and you can use it for anything you want. You can throw it around for fun or use it as a baseline to inspire you to make your own. By having it locked up on my PC I knew I've been actively depriving you useful and wise people of new frontiers. Take it away from me, you needn't ask for permission or credit me or anything.

Below is the link to the google drive folder that contains everything I've done. You can also just use the things on the table attached to this Workshop file.

I only hope it lets you download, because otherwise I don't know what to do with all this stuff.

Credits to Jester for having the D&D character sheet from which I gleaned some knowledge before making my own system

If anyone wants an item added to the list I'll get it in the mod

Thanks so much for your reply, Popcorn! That helps a lot. I can probably just make my own tokens and figure it out from there, then.

Thank you so much for doing this!

I've hit some snags...

1. it seems the double heat sink token won't load. It's not really giving me a coherent error, just saying "failed to load token from image." Instead, I get a blank square token that's the color of the double heat sink token. This token falls through the table if I unlock it. I get the same problem with the bloodhound active probe as well. I've tried downloading the images onto my computer, re-uploading them onto the steam cloud, reuploading them onto dropbox, and I get the same error regardless. Well, not quite: if I upload them to dropbox I get an image format error instead.

2. When I try to equip single heat sinks onto the sheet, they don't seem to immortalize like all the other equipment. It seems like it's just not detecting them.

Thanks so much for your concern Maya and the reporting (it means my images need refreshed, for some reason, which blows). I'm sorry I don't have any plans to keep working on this bad boy. It would probably be easier for me to start from scratch to get something more reasonable, but you can take the project into your own hands, just clone it over in a save

Those little tokens are truly just right-sized pieces of plastic that can be read by the character sheet. It reads the title for a name to write to the critslot, and then it scans the description for the line like 'Weight - '. If you really wanna keep using this sheet then any surrogate token renamed and re-statted will work.

I'm not sure though if this was one of those moments where I had objectively bad system design and couldn't figure out how to set up my heat sinks so maaybe it's supposed to be a counter on the back or bottom somewhere. Sorry I can't be more helps. Good luck :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

I'm open to going back and changing it to accomodate all that jazz, but I just desperately don't want to touch this until I finish the other things I'm working on.

This looks great, I've wanted something like this for a while - even without the slots and calculations.

The only usability improvement that stares me in the face is replace the + - buttons with a single larger button hidden under each graphic, that works by left click increase / right click decrease.

What I'd love is an ability to import a mech's json from the web into this sheet - which should be more than possible :)
