Helped me get to my tri-state(zone) selection.
There are also versions of this map without roads if you prefer so - https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1613832925&tscn=1558321421 or use a regular map instead.
It can't affect reachability, it have no offset compared to original. Kenshi's world height map was used in creation of this, as well as road map, these can be found in game files.
I understand it can be harder to read this particular map for some people, yet I don't get what is your issue. You may try to command your squad to move to same coordinates from the same spot you have issues with this mod disabled - I guarantee you, result would be the same.
