Peleliu 1944

The island of Peleliu is part of the Palau Islands. A small volcanic island measuring only 5 miles squared (13 km squared). On this island on September 15th, 1944, 28,000 US Marines and infantry troops landed here to recapture the island from the Imperial Japanese Army. Of these 28,000 Allied troops involved in the invasion, a full 40% of them were killed or wounded.

This battle resulted in the highest casualty rate of any amphibious assault in American military history.

This map is a depiction of the famous battle that took place on this small island. Some historical accuracy had to be sacrificed due to the limitations of this game and the engine.

NOTE: Loading times may take a while due to the amount of props on this level. It will not lag on most computers once the level is fully loaded. Also don't wander too far from the battle, you may get picked off by a ♥♥♥ sniper!

Also make sure to download all the attached textures and music in order to make sure the map functions as intended.
