ASM Voltio Class Frigate Mk.2
After dozens of anti piracy operations, the Voltio class frigate quickly grew to be one of the most produced and popular ASM desings, guaranteeing a general redesing and upgrade. Usually seen as a “poors man Ventisca”, the voltio is a versatile vessel, capable of dealing with enemy drones and fighters thanks to its speed and powerful PDC, intercepting enemy munitions as part of a flak screen, yet remaining capable of engaging enemy vessels with its guided missile launchers and accurate rocket turrets.

All of these characteristics have been improved and boosted in the Mk2. The largest change is to the Voltio´s main thruster array, increasing forward aceleration to 11m/s (from the original 7m/s). After numerous reports of the 4 PD cannons being easily damaged in battle and hard to repair while the ship was deployed, these were reduced to 2 PDC, much more heavily armoured, while the other 2 were changed for normal gatling turrets (with an aditional one placed under the bow)
A third change to the ship was the placement of its programable blocks, vital for the ship, which are now more protected, being placed deeper in the ship hull.
The combat tactics for the Voltio remain mostly unchanged:
Following the standard ASM doctrine of a heavy prow and frontal attacks, the ship has been designed for a small, armoured frontal profile,. All weapons can and should fire forwards while decoys in the prow distract enemy fire. The voltio is capable, thanks to its powerful side thrust, to dodge around an enemy ship, confounding enemy turrets and pilots, and has been reported to be able to dodge incoming fire at long ranges. The main weapon system of the ship is its missile launchers, that allow it to damage and cripple targets before any close quarters combat. This is prefered since the voltio class isnt as sturdy as the larger Granizo or Ventisca class, more fit for close quarters battles.

Weapons and defenses:
-4 HELM (High Explosive Lock-on Missile) launchers (capable of reload)
-4 Missile turrets (slaved*), 2 PDC Turrets, 3 gatling turrets
-Self Repair system for turrets and reactors.

Systems:
-2 ARC furnaces, 2 assemblers, 4 O2/H2 generators..
-Two external docking points on the top and bottom of the ship, for fighters and other crafts.
-One dock ring with airlock on each side

Guided missiles controls (CONTROL 1)
-Open the tube doors (2)
-Build missiles (3)
-Launch with 4
-Aim using camera (1)
To get a lock on, simply put the target grid on the center of the camera. If you get a lock on, launched missiles will head directly towards it, if you dont they will behave like previous versions (guided by aiming the ship). You can get a lock after launch and previously launched missiles will lock on.

ATTENTION: If the missiles are launched without a previous lock on, theres a chance they will collide with each other. Dont launch them too fast to avoid this (about 1 per second is safe), im still searching for a permanent solution

New script also has a GPS firing mode: Missiles will fly towards a previously adquired GPS. To use this mode go to CONTROL 3:
-use the K menu to search for the text panel named "R_TARGET". Put the target GPS coordinates in the text panel´s title
-switch missile type (turn 1 off, turn 2 on)
-build missiles (3)
-open doors (4)
-launch (5)

Notes
This vessel is not capable of planetary flight. However it is fully capable of lunar flight (with hydrogen on)
I dont reccomend going further than 0.3G into the gravity field of a planet.
Hydrogen should not be used beyond combat or flight in gravity, in order to preserve fuel.

@Mikeangel Hi there, Great ship! i made a Refit version of this ship that uses DDS script instead of Easy Lidar. I wanted to, with your Permission, put it on workshop, will be used on a NPC spawning mod. I will link this original to the page, sound good?

Its something i need to fix somehow one day, but you can get blueprints for all the subgrids from creative mode in some mins

Love the design but projectors only use the largest grid so I can't construct any missiles/can't find their blueprint
