When you select a building/rover, all buildings of the same type will have a beam of light.

Mod Options:
Mark Buildings: If you want to turn off the mod disable this option.
Max Objects: Skip adding lines if too many objects.
Hide Signs: Hide signs on non-selected buildings.

I thought I had an example mod for custom keys, I'll add one :)

The mod modders the better, you asked (close enough) so feel free to do whatever with the mod.

Some objects are really difficult to find the origin hex via rotation, for example (for me) the micro dome. It breaks my brain. But, anyways, I created my very first mod that does exactly what I want (I used your mods as an example -- it even required your library because that's the only way I could figure out how to create toggle keys). I may put it on steam, but it kinda incorporates the features of this mod so it makes me feel a dirty... but I'll go over the MIT license... I think it allows it.

You can find the origin hex by rotating a building, this doesn't use the origin hex though (err maybe it does).

I'm hoping this will help me placing new objects by showing me what the object's key hex is (the hex it uses as the center hex)... we'll see! :D

The Map Options to turn them off don't seem to work. It's annoying when using lots of small solar panels. Any way to set up a config for individual small items? Maybe on the info panel?

I tried colouring them then scaling them up in the map overview, but scaling so many buildings is kinda laggy (using your save for testing, thanks), so this seemed like a decent alternative.
