Prisoners and gambling, what could go wrong? Organize a Prison Lottery!
Anyone can buy lottery tickets from their hard earned money until the lottery starts.
Prisoners and staff members can win prizes ranging from:

• A really good dinner with Champagne and hot chicks,
• A complete new inventory for their Superior Cell according to their personal choice,
• Early release, as soon as the lottery finished,
• Two bags of free drugs from the Infirmary,
• A 6-pack of strong winter craft beer from the Staffroom,
• A free Baton to beat up an enemy in a closed room without CCTV nor guards,
• 30 seconds ahead on a granted Escape attempt before the dogs are released to catch up,
• And of course money! LOTS of money!
  The more cash going into the Lottery Safe, the higher the Jackpot will be for the lucky fellow who wins it!

Place a Lottery Vending machine where prisoners can go during their Yard, Eat or FreeTime. The vending machine will sell lottery tickets to prisoners. A prisoner can buy more than 1 ticket when he has the cash for it. The stakes are high: a prisoner can bet any amount from his available cash, starting at $1, that he will have the winning ticket. This money will be stored in a Lottery Safe.


Do the prisoners win anything with this lottery?
NO! Of course not. Well, they might. So let's rephrase that.
YOU WIN...
...as the Warden is always winning!

While the prisoners will most likely be cheated on,
the lottery will pay you with 1 of these nice prizes:

• A complete inventory set for a random room
• A free PowerStation or WaterPump
• A random object for the prison (can be anything!)
• PLUS the total amount of cash stored in the Lottery Safe, and perhaps...
• SUPER JACKPOT $ 1,000,000 cash
• MEGA JACKPOT $ 4,500,000 cash!

• You can place your own bet on who wins the lottery: the warden, a prisoner or a staff member.
• Either win or loose a PowerStation or $ 5,000 cash.
• You can bet only once per lottery. If you regret and want to undo your bet then you will need to place a new Lottery Safe.

• Lottery Vending machine, place it in Canteen, Yard or Common Room or anywhere where prisoners can go during Eat, Yard and FreeTime. You can also place it in a Staff Room if you want staff to be able to buy tickets as well.
• Lottery Safe, place it somewhere suitable like the Yard. Prisoners may Stare and daydream at it, settling some needs. It's really tough, so nobody can come in, no worries. You can only place 1 Safe. If you're not happy with its placement, then simply put a new one where you want it to be. As long as you place the same type, it will transfer the cash from the old safe to the new location, so you won't loose any lottery savings. Choose your type:
  • Sylvester Lottery Safe:
    - A lottery once per game year (every 28 days) on the first day of Spring.
    - Requires 1000 tickets to be sold.
    - Pays out $ 1,000,000 and $ 4,500,000 jackpots
  • Prison Lottery Safe:
    - Fully customizable lottery with intervals of 7 / 14 / 28 days.
    - Pays out $ 10,000 and $ 100,000 jackpots
• Winner Marker, a big rainbow marker above the happy lottery winner.
  Click it to decide what you want to do about the outcome.

• Vending Lottery Ticket, gets auto ordered by the vending machines and will cost you $1 each.
• Lottery Cash, gets collected by the vending machines and is brought to the safe.
• Vending Earnings, the proceeds from the ticket sale which gets exported.
• Lottery Jackpot / Super Jackpot / Mega Jackpot, the cash won from the lottery which can be sold afterwards so it adds up to your income.

• BodyGuard, the Warden gets 4 bodyguards in case he wins the lottery. Looks like he got himself covered big time. They will protect him until he dies or until they get seriously injured. You can sack the bodyguards when they are no longer needed.

• Prisoners are able to daydream at the safe or buy a lottery ticket at the vending machine.
  This will settle the needs for Comfort, Family, Warmth, Freedom or Luxuries.
• Staff can buy a lottery ticket at the vending machine as well when placed in staff rooms.
  This will settle the needs for StaffComfort or StaffRecreation.

• The lottery outcome will be accompanied by dramatic music fx during important moments.

A Lottery Official will validate the tickets and draw the winning one:

• If a prisoner has the winning ticket...
  ... he will get the cash from the Safe, and perhaps also the jackpot or the mega jackpot when he is lucky enough. And a marker above his head...
  Your choices:
  • be very generous and grant the money to the prisoner, or
  • assassinate and grab the cash.
  There has to be nobody around when you assassinate the prisoner: everybody within a radius of 5 tiles around the prisoner can see what you want to do and will start to riot if you do it. And this time, your guards already got rid of their AK's and Uzi's (uuhm, say WHAT again?...)
  
  You can still cancel the assassination and do it another time. Just click the Kill button to check if you need to confirm the kill in case prisoners are nearby. When the area is clear he will be assassinated immediately.
  
  
• If a staff member has the winning ticket...
  ... then that person will be the only one who is very happy. You can't grab their cash at all, even when they win the Super or Mega Jackpot. When you place your bet on a staff member, a free PowerStation or $ 5,000 cash is the only stuff you will be able to win with this lottery outcome.
  
  
• If the winning ticket was NOT sold...
  ... then the Warden wins the contents of the safe, and perhaps also the jackpot or the mega jackpot. All prisoners who bought a lottery ticket will get mad and start to riot, because they feel they have been cheated on.
  
  Prisoners magically grab any kind of contraband, ranging from a Baton to a SubMachineGun, as if they knew up front that something smelly was going on with this whole Lottery thing...
  
  All Guards, Dog Handlers and Armed Guards will grab either their AK47 or Uzi, I wonder who made sure they got these powerful weapons stuck under their jackets, the Warden perhaps? Because the Chief didn't know anything about that... The one thing he DOES know from that moment on, is that the year will end with fireworks!
  
  
  TL;DR
  Pray for a prisoner to win the Lottery, then assassinate far away from the other prisoners.
  This is the only way to get away with the whole lottery scam in a silent manner.
  OR grant the prisoner(s) all the (well deserved?) cash... it will be up to you!

• Reset needs + WellFed ( = champagne dinner )
• Reset needs ( = new room inventory )
• Freedom need exploding + Escape attempt ( = early release/escape )
• Drugs needs reset + high or overdosed ( = free drugs )
• Alcohol needs reset + drunk ( = free beer )
• Equipment Baton + Fighting ( = beat up enemy )

This mod does not want to encourage you to go gamble with money like these stupid prisoners do. You are smarter than them. Chances of winning a Sylvester lottery are very small, so rather spend your money on a nice Christmas dinner with some good friends, a proper craft beer or something else which gives you a nice feeling of satisfaction!
