Although the elephant gun's power is quite nasty and pierces through lines of smaller enemies with ease, firing it is rather slow and consumes a bunch of ammo rather quickly if used constantly.

If that is not your thing then perhaps these 12 guage slug rounds should do the trick. It's a qucker, more economical alternative to the elephant gun but weaker and with less piercing power. However, still very satisfying to fire and more forgiving.

Although both this and the elephant gun work very well together, you can mix and match them however you want. They all work together nicely. Whether it's single shotgun slugs and a normal DB shotgun or a normal single shotgun and the elephant gun.
