I hate when I on Byzantium emperor but I have not imperial diadem.
They seem to be trying to force a very specific version of the Roman Empire, and the Byzantine Empire, onto the player. The reality is that those empires had very dynamic cultures and governments that changed over time, ranging from strict dynastic monarchy all the way to full true republic. Instead of allowing the player to choose which Rome they want to restore, they are giving you a default, late-Classical version of the Empire with no option to change.
Thanks for the mod! I was looking for this one (and other mod which gets rid off the imperial election system-seriously wtf was that one, Paradox?!).

constantinus moved the capital to byzantion for good reasons
constantinus converted to christianity for good reasons
herakleios changed the official language from latin to greek for good reasons
i never restore the old capital, the hellenic religion or the official language because it just means taking a step back instead of moving forward
i thank you though for telling me Paradox' stance on it but they're wrong lmao
