Real World-Lake Eyre Wet

Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, South Australia is an area where, most of the time, appears to be a desert basin. However, during the rainy seasons, this area fills up to become the largest lake in Australia, at a whopping 9,500 square kilometers (3,668 square miles) The basin holds a wealth of ore and oil that makes up a decent portion of Australia's mining operations.

This particular plot of land is known as Elliot Price Conservation Park, currently closed to the public.

This map is the Wet Season, giving much more water to access. River tsunamis are a lot more dangerous though, and most of the basin oil is blocked.. unless you decide to drain the lake...
