When creating a fence you usually click once for the starting point and again one click for the end. But if you double click at the end point and create the fence, the end point will be automatically the starting point for the next fence. With that you are able to build long fences even around corners and curves without breaking point. I found that feature accidentally and love this mod meanwhile also because of this funtion.

@Didz. Just try some on your current game, Save your game first, then build some fences, if you don't like them exit the game without saving!
I'ts kind of suck it and see at the minute, for example 'Boxwood' seems to be a hedge. I rather foolishly assumed it would be a wood fence. A few screenshots would be nice.
During first steps I found it a bit confusing but very quickly got used of it. In fact the results look much better than expected during the planning.
My first fences are for train stations and steep roads.
For all others: I personally recommend using the 2 kinds of bushes because small mistakes of the angles aren't so obvious like when you create fences or walls. And they are pretty, too.
Btw: I've uploaded few screenshots with fences. Here's one example (if embedding of an URL works inside a comment; never did that before): https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/app/446800/screenshots/?p=1&browsefilter=mostrecent
We all use this to stop the AI from building in this game and it would be amazing if it would return for TF2
