Yong Bao

Yong Bao is yet another Thomas & Friends character I have attempted to replicate. He comes from China, and was one of the International Engines that first appeared in the 2016 film 'The Great Race'. Just like Tauranga's buses, the International Engines were incredibly under-utilised. This changed from the start of Season 22 in 2018, where Thomas ended up touring Australia, China, India and several other countries I can't remember. While the blue E2 was in China, he met up with Yong Bao, who finally got some speaking roles. From memory, he didn't say anything in The Great Race.

Yong Bao is based on the China Railways RM class, a 4-6-2 tender engine. My version - of course - uses the 4-6-4 version of the New Zealand Railways AB class that is supplied with Rolling Line.

Due to the restrictions of this AB model, I had to leave out the dragon piece that Yong Bao has above his face.
