Designed with Industries in mind, Steeltown is ready for a hefty ore-based economy has the flat space, resources and heavy-duty infrastructure to handle large traffic loads. A very fast flowing river, coastline and a set up for hydroelectric dam round out to make this land ideal for the dingy, rusty steel town you've always dreamed of!

The start square has significant built in infrastructure to help you manage the traffic flow from all that yummy ore you'll be exporting.

HYDRO DAM: The hydro dam is located at the furthestmost upstream square, and is marked for you with two temporary walls. Unlike my other pre-made hydro dam spots, be sure to locate this dam *behind* the waterfall (upstream). Click the dam on one end of a wall and drag it all the way across to the far end of the other wall. You should get around 700 to 800MW. At first the amount will vary widely, but just let it run. Power generation depends on real water physics, so expect a range of power output. I got a range from 600s to 800s. There is room for higher output - just make your dam taller

I can see how it would be frustrating to build a grid city on this map. Hope you find one you like better :)

Nice map, but the beginning of building the city is a tragedy, the roundabouts are crooked, there is no straight line, it is at an angle, I gave up building on this map because it is impossible to relax with this map and build anything straight:steamthumbsdown:

It's a bit weird, you have to scroll down past all the default maps to find the workshop maps, even when you list them alphabetically! Just keep on scrolling... if they're still not there, go to Content Manager, maps, and make sure they are activated (blue box).

So maybe I'm stupid, which is very likely but I cannot seem to find this map in the map list, in fact I don't see any workshop maps, just the official ones.

Yeah I'm all about not wasting land. Love that little underground freeway spur you made, too. Actually creates a perfect little harbor area in the river delta :)

Glad it works for you! I try to make all different kinds of maps but I always ask myself the question "If I were __x__ kind of player, what would I want in a map?" This one's for the mega city players who don't want the hassle of uneven or wasted land.

Man I wish more people would make maps like this. Consolidated center with a nice situated coast and hilly suburbs. This and Great Plan are probably the only maps I can find that actually fit my idea of 'where I would put a city' lol.
