Particle System Tester

This tool can be used to spawn particle effects from several Valve games. It currently contains all particle effects from HL2, CSS, Portal, Portal 2, TF2 and Alien Swarm. They will only be listed if their respective game is mounted.

You can find this tool under Weapons / Other. When you spawn it for the first time, it has to load ALL particle effects into memory thus the game might freeze for a few seconds. Don't worry!

Not all effects seem to work, so you'll have to search and try things out to find what you're looking for. In case you're wondering what Tracer Mode is, try it out with the vortigaunt_beam particle effect.

This tool is useful for almost every kind of Garry's Mod player. Developers can try out particle effects to use in their own scripts. Movie and comic makers can use it to spawn particle effects for their scenes. Builders can use it to make their builds even more awesome.

Note that most effects from Portal 2 and Alien Swarm do not seem to be compatible with the current engine. I included them anyway in case this changes in the future.
