Riverside Relic "One"

An ancient abandoned tower, nicknamed "One" by the marking on its base, stands tall and alone on this small stretch of land next to a long since dried out riverbed. As it reaches far above all else on the island, and though it's slowly withering and crumbling under its own weight, it emits an aura of pride.

The few scientists that still remain in foundation have concluded that, whatever alloy comprises the heavy cables running within the tower it has unrivalled properties in durability, flexibility and conductivity whilst remaining light enough to, theoretically stretch across several kilometres in cable form. The tower has been dated back to sometime long before foundation and the event that caused it to some pre-saborian culture that lived then.

Who they were, and how they managed such a feat of technology is unknown, but, with the right resources one could some day unlock this secret.
