@The Archivist it's been awhile but isn't that the one in a cave? I think you need to take the right path or they will keep spawning in. It's been some time though so I could be wrong. I definitely know this game is beatable.

So Stage 3 seems to be completely endless. You get to the end, a timer starts ticking down, and putty patrol spawn in endlessly. I've killed around two hundred of them by now and still don't know what to do. Once the timer runs out, you continually take damage. The game is so easy that I have a ton of credits so I just keep fighting until I eventually die from attrition.
