2021 edition

With permission JenperTC has revised my original model greatly, adding modelled bogies and pantograph register, forward and rear lights and a changing destination board. I wanted to update this one rather than it be an independent release, hopefully it hasn't disrupted your saves. There may be additional variations to look out for which will be published separately by Jenper.

The Waratah, or A set, is the flagship of Sydney's modern train fleet, with 78 eight car sets. There are no four car sets of the Waratah, so as an accompanying item I have caved and published a six car set here that will fit comfortably in vanilla stations. Link below!

This uses the standard yellow colouring - it is not a line-coloured set.

Notes:
- The Additive Shader mod is required if you want the blue light to light up and see the destination and LED headlights on the front, but it will work without it.
- In order to specifically use this asset on train lines, the Improved Public Transport 2 / IPT2 mod is required.

Wow the changing destination board changing between Emu Plains and Central. Love it!!!! well done. It also looks more realistic than the original version. Great work!!!!!!

not sure if a comment got moderated or something, sorry. any train needs hit up meshd for a commish, his stuff is really great, and I'm focusing on buildings for now :)

Thank you! I'd be happy to, but all my trains were only made possible for me by the great diagrams available on Transport NSW, which helped me ensure scale and proportion were as accurate as possible. The metro trains, which are a configuration of the Alstom Metropolis, come in lots of different forms around the world, and I haven't been able to get a good diagram of any of them yet. :(
I don't know how tall they are, how long they are, how wide they are.. I could make guesses but that's a recipe for a mess. :P

So no plans yet.. still planning on making the OSCAR set and the XPlorer/XPT sets, though.

thanks for this upload! will you make the B Sets as well? make sure to include the "1 out of 24 new trains" on the side of the car! :)
