Player death results in all items including worn warpaint be saved to a grave instead of on a corpse. There is no body of the player left on the ground with Last Rites, only a grave. A Last Rites grave will vanish when empty. Note that if you die empty no grave is made. The map marker for a Last Rites grave is a blue skull.

No limit to number of graves
Do not suffer decayed out of the game and loss of inventory
No creepy player corpse (harvest yourself much?), just a grave
Saves any worn warpaint as an item too
Automatically locked, owner access only
Apart from the skull map marker, the grave is easy to spot having an orange glow and surrounding white mist

GET TO THE THE GRAVE AND RECOVER YOUR ITEMS BEFORE EXITING PLAY. Though it does not matter how long you take in-game to do so (no decaying out) and you can have any number of graves, Last Rites graves can vanish when the player who died and made them exits play.
