Brig Ship Thingy Water Mod

描述
I finally managed to somewhat finish the water mod version of my Brig! Which is now a corvette with too few guns.

This piece of Ship features actully firing cannons this time around. Also i was absolutly glad there is a mod with different wood colours. Props to Wolfgar7474 for creating VarietyTimber (V-0.6)!

Also we all have to thank the one making possible what Keen wouldn't do: Peaceman, creator of the probably most important mod in medival engineers history!

It was a absolute pain to balance it out also it has an totally intended historycally accurate turning radius. It is easier to circumnavigate the Planet than to turn around.

Also if someone knows how to create bigger Sails i'd be much obliged if because thats basically the biggest ship i can build somewhat proportional.

Feedback is always welcome! :)

have you opened "load world" and clicked on "workshop"? If not not do that and click on "Brig Ship Thingy Water Mod" and click on copy and load. Hope i could help.

The mod I installed, and the vehicle is not in the savegame or in the copies, nor in the mod. PS I do not understand English so do not be angry if something is not clear!

Oh, and important important note, since you mentioned ascending to the heavens on a golden throne of clang,

Locking catch blocks, never ever edit a design while any locking catch blocks on it are locked!

That one simple rule has removed like 80% of my hardcore physics glitches.

It's really worth getting past the dozen or so failures (I personally lost count of mine) in order to eventually get things that work. I mean, look at my most recent WIP creation as an example:

Yes, that's a wind powered gantry crane for my soon to be drydock. Don't let yourself get intimidated, one success is built on a hundred failures. I think I read that in a loading screen somewhere.

(1/2) The gears do take a bit of learning to get used to, but once you get the hang of them it's hard to go back.

You also don't need anything too fancy. A one stage reduction gear and a 90 degree union is plenty.

Here's an example from my own experimentations:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1517640687

I used a rope belt to connect the helm to an axel that runs along just below the deck, that connects to the gear between the two big ones on the stern, it's also a far smaller gear than the two on the rear so it doubles as a reduction gear. The planks on top are just direction indicators, and that second helm is for giving it a kick if it ever jams and for adjusting rudder trim while I'm in the aft reeling in the nets.

I've been playing around with that too but i think i'm actually to incompetent for that ^^

@ Dr_Eggman I have found moderate sucsess with the gears mod

I'm experimenting with that sort of stearing but haven't found a solution that wouldn't take the entire back section of the ship or make it glitch out and launch it into outer space

Is there a way to add a helm to the ship that turn both left and right?

yes it is absolutly beautiful how many ships have been build in the last few days. I don't think the concept of rounded timber will prove to practical. but there absolutly should be different angles to the diagonal timbers making smoothe curves more feasible
