Description

This mod patches all filth defs so they wash away with rain/snow. It also patches all filth defs that have a disappearsInDays duration of 15 or higher. What does this mean? It means every type of filth in the game and every type of filth added by mods should vanish with rain/snow and disappear at most after 14-15 days (in vanilla this is typically between 35-50 days). As a result with this mod rain/snow will now clean your map and any areas that are undercover, forgotten and not cleaned for a long time will eventually become clean on their own.

The following types of filth and more will now be washed away by rain/snow and vanish over time.

Animal Filth
Trash
Sand
Rock Rubble
Building Rubble
Scattered Slag
Scattered Sandbags
Machine Bits
Ash
Hair

Note: In vanilla some filth types such as blood, corpse bile, dirt, firefoam and a few other things already vanish with rain/snow.

This mod is included in [FSF] FrozenSnowFox Tweaks.

Compatibility

This mod shouldn't have any compatibility issues. Just make sure it is loaded near the end of your load order so it can overwrite any other mods as necessary.

@FrozenSnowFox Appreciate the additional info and clarification. Will do.

They are in fact compatible, just load this mod after Regrowth 2. Also while they function in a similar way they do not do the exact same thing.

This mod ignores realism and logic making all filth types vanish with rain/snow and within 14-15 days or less.

Regrowth 2 on the other hand patches the Parentdef with these changes and makes a few other changes. Overall some filth types will last significantly longer than 14-15 days because they have their own duration specified. Also a number of filth types are specifically patched to not vanish with rain/snow because its not realistic and that's how it is in vanilla.

@FrozenSnowFox Regrowth 2 has listed this mod as being incompatible. Not sure that is exactly the case as they further go on to state it does basically the same thing. So it just may be a duplicated effect.

lol @Wolfen, it really is a pain doing all that, that's why I just search for a collection matching the theme for the run I want(such a wide variety, esp. given most youtubers post their collections) and then I add the other missing mods as needed.

Also, big thanks for this mod FrozenSnowFox. After multiple WH40K Ork raids, the whole outside of my vault is covered in ugly, green blood

Stupid me, was trying 15 minutes to google why this isn't compatible with FrozenSnowFox Tweaks... mayyyybe just a look at the mod author would have helped.
Then again, i am old and coming back to Rimworld after years and installing 80+ mods is difficult.
Thanks a bunch for your mods.

Thanks! I had already checked it out and wondered if that would work. Really appreciate all your amazing work on this game. You are such a talented modder!

I'd have to test if that's actually viable with the way I patch things and add a mod settings menu for the mod. At any rate its not something I'll do anytime soon with other things on my to do list.

If you want you can change it on your local copy. There's only one file in the mod, open it in notepad and change the 14-15 to whatever you like. You should also change the number in the path to match your maximum setting to ensure the patch isn't changing things that would normally disappear sooner.

Can this mod be adjusted so the filth sticks around a bit longer? I'd like it to be 20-25 days.

Thanks :)
